About jordana

As a Co-Active and Integrative Life Coach, Jordana is passionate about helping people restore balance to their (busy, stressful) lives and transition from "surviving" into "thriving".  In addition to life coaching, Jordana Carmel is an experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (over 5000 hours taught), Yoga Therapist (both with private clients and formerly at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center), and Licensed Massage Therapist (1997).  She has been a yoga teacher and guest speaker at Holy Cross Hospital since 2001.

Co-Active and Integrative Life Coach

Jordana has completed the Co-active Life Coach training by CTI (Coach Training Institute), and is a Holistic Health Coach, certified by Purchase College, State University of New York. Jordana was trained in more than one hundred dietary theories and studied a variety of practical lifestyle coaching methods. Her teachers included Dr. Andrew Weil, Director of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine; Dr. Deepak Chopra, leader in the field of mind-body medicine; Dr. David Katz, Director of Yale University’s Prevention Research Center; Dr. Walter Willett, Chair of Nutrition at Harvard University; Geneen Roth, bestselling author and expert on emotional eating; and many other leading researchers and nutrition authorities.

Yoga Teacher
Jordana has been a registered yoga teacher since 2001. She is also a Certified iRest® Yoga Nidra Teacher.  Jordana sees yoga as a way of life and not simply as physical exercise.  It is a profound and gentle way to reduce cortisol (stress hormone) and to support the body in unwinding and healing deeply held patterns of stress and tension.  It is also one of the few modalities in the West that supports the body in producing oxytocin (the "feel good" hormone)!  Jordana applies yoga teachings to all aspects of her life and to her coaching.  Yoga is also a self-directed tool that you can take anywhere with you to use in sustaining inner peace regardless of outer chaos.

Licensed Massage Therapist

Jordana has been a licensed massage therapist since 1997.  She has studied many modalities over the years and uses them in designing a massage session to meet your specific needs.  Massage has numerous benefits which include pain management,  enhanced athletic performance, stress reduction, and promoting an overall sense of well being.  Massage is another fabulous tool for managing stress and pain.  It works amazingly well at jump starting your relaxation and healing which you may then sustain with a regular yoga practice (including breathing techniques) to fit into your own schedule to sustain your new found skills!

Integration
Drawing on her collective experience, and established research, Jordana will work with you to co-create a completely personalized “roadmap to health” that suits your unique body, lifestyle, preferences, and goals.
